The Time Honored Purple Haze

Haze is one of the cannabis strains that has been a favorite in the 70’s and is making a tremendous comeback today with growers and smokers. That is because it has a unique high and one of the most popular of the haze cannabis in the 1970’s was Purple Haze.

This is a distinct marijuana plant that has a sativa influence and gets purple buds, which have a different taste, smell and high. This plant originated in Holland and was a cross between Skunk and Holland Hope.

Purple Haze is debated if it was the cannabis or the LDS that prompted the 1967 Jimi Hendrix song, according to fans, but Hendrix is said to have stated he wrote the song about a dream he had. No matter whether the song was pot related or dream related cannabis smokers from the 1970’s enjoyed the unique high they got when smoking Purple Haze and the still enjoy it, since haze is becoming the popular pot to grow.

This cannabis is botanically known as being part of the Kingdom; Plantae, and Division; Magnoliophyta. The Class is Magnoliopsida, Order is Rosales and the Family of Cannabaceae. The genus is cannabis and the species is cannabis sativa.
